The effects of being out of the market

Trying to time the market is as old as the market itself. The chart above shows how investing for long periods of time can change dramatically just by missing a few days. Big returns both up & down can frequently be clustered close to one another. While we would love to be able to avoid those major selloffs, it frequently comes at the cost of missing those big days.
